A Nazy salute on top of a bitter cake
The disastrous new America
Past week, international news offered me a disheartening and jaw-clenching spectacle from United States of America.
It was – sorry, IS such a blatantly racist and heinous chain of decisions that it is nauseating.
I stayed still, like hypnotized, incapable of doing anything else than staring at the disaster unfolding in slow motion. And I must admit that I am still trying to recover and keep going.
I hardly imagine how long will Americans be able to cope with this ambient.
Among all this mess, a weird and disturbing incident stood uglier, the following:

“I give my hate to you”
The protagonist of this vomitive gesture was our inevitable foe-of-the-moment. To be fair (even though he doesn’t deserve it much), it looks more like he was complying with a bet.
You know, talking to some nazi scum in Italy, or somewhere else, and promising:
“If I happen to talk at investiture ceremony or at a rally around, I’ll do the salute” …
Allegedly.
Then trying to hide it by saying ““I give my heart to you”.
Well, you left a lot of work for your followers to justify it, buddy! I mean at home because in Europe, you are already burnt.
‘The gesture speaks for itself’: Germans respond to Musk’s apparent Nazi salute
And, apparently, with many at home too (this is one among many examples):

Let’s keep having feelings
The Niemöller poem is a healthy reminder
It is difficult for creatives not to have feelings. It’s a gift and, at the same time, a weakness that can overwhelm for a moment.
Why do I care? After all, I am not US citizen nor live there. I don’t have to worry, they are not chasing me.
Well, I do care, and I think you all should too. Some (or is it a lot?) of these people will flee their country, fearing for their lives.
They will land in many places … Like here. Things seem to be escalating fast, meaning that this moment is not far away.
Freedom is an evanescent privilege
Meanwhile, we need to remember that freedom is an evanescent concept that we may never fully understand.
We, at TMN, use this privilege to:
- Play videogames,
- Listen to music,
- See inspiring videos, movies, series,
- Read (of course),
- Watch for technological and scientifical advances,
- And write articles about all of this.
It’s time to get back to it.
And finally, here is how “giving one’s heart” should look like.
