El presente editorial de TMN es una reacción en caliente (por eso su tono). Está en inglés porque lo destinamos primero a un público anglohablante.
Finalmente, la noticia nos da una advertencia: de que algo está pasando.
Mark Zuckerberg makes a strange move
Ruthless and sociopathic, a postmodern trait
Mark Zuckerberg is not a nice guy. His ascension was ruthless and sociopathic.
He is no isolated case, though:
- Bill Gates,
- Steve Jobs,
- Jeff Bezos,
- Elon Musk,
All these admired sharks usurped a big part of what they are credited for (an implicit rule of postmodernism).
What is happening with and to him, lately, is interesting and concerning.
Don’t take me wrong: the concern is not about him; I couldn’t care less if he disappeared
I worry about us, the numerous crowds of Facebook, Instagram and Whatsapp users.
A recent development was recently reported in main news media like – say – the Washington Post:
Zuckerberg expresses regrets over covid misinformation crackdown
The whining of Mark Zuckerberg
This is improbable: no one – Mr Zuckerberg included – takes “House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jim Jordan” seriously.
Which means that something else is going on:
- It is related to the recent ruling that Google is a monopoly?
- Or is it about the fortress he built in Hawaii?
- And what is it with his sudden passion for Brazilian Jiu Jitsu?
- Or is it all of the above, “to cover all bases”?
As I said, if he is about to disappear, we will be legions many not-to-regret him.
Still, he may know (or believe) something that we don’t. And he is not the only one: his wealthy pals seem to share the same concern about their future.
What is on his mind?
Silly questions
Quite a lot of them prepared their own postapocalyptic shelter. Others have their own big boat, “The Last Ship” style, or even spaceships …
Unfortunately, the only existing space stations are the ISS and the Chinese one … And they are not big enough to host many of them.
Do they already have their own army? Well, that was a silly question: of course, they have! For quite a while, now.
America and Americans
Now, since these folks are sociopaths, they also are paranoid, meaning that what their fear isn’t necessarily real. Unlike them, we don’t have “much luggage”.
So, the end of their world doesn’t mean ours is in danger. Starting with one fact: they all believe that the world finishes at the frontiers of a certain American country.
Among the 8 billion souls on the Earth, only 5% live within these frontiers. The good question is “will United States of America cease to exist as it is now?”
This isn’t even the right way to paint it: America doesn’t matter that much, Americans do (at least for us).
So, tell us, Mark, what is on your mind?
